According to the report, the wife Mrs Lawrence has been suspecting her husband of the abominable and forbidden act but could not react but believing it was just a mere rumour until she caught him red-handed.
Report says when he was caught by the wife, she called others for sight seeing which would have led to an instant life threatening attack before any law enforcement agent arrived.
Lawrence managed to escape while his hiding remained unknown to the people not even his close relative.
When contacted, the spoke person Edo State Police command CSP J. O Yamo said the case was reported at the nearest police station but the location of the main suspect remains unknown and appealed to well meaning citizens to urgently report when and wherever Lawrence is sighted either to the state command directly or to the nearest police station.
Same sex marriage is criminalised in Nigeria and can’t be practice whether in secret because of the penalties as enshrined in the law of the country. If the suspect survived or was lucky to be handed to the police for prosecution, the least he or she can get as penalty is fourteen years in prison. And in most cases with hard labour and all kinds of inhuman treatment.
