Details have started to emerge about the tragic car crash that took the lives of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.
As the Guardia Civil has told BBC Sport, the accident took place at about 00:30 local time on Thursday in the Spanish province of Zamora.
“Their car, a Lamborghini, left the road due to a tyre blowout while overtaking another vehicle and then caught fire,” the report says.
Diogo Jota was 28 years old, while his brother, also a professional footballer with Penafiel, was 26. Jota married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso, with whom he had three children, just last month.
