The Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu on Wednesday led a delegation of the hospital’s management staff on a condolence visit to the Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, to express their sympathy following the passing of his mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa.
During the visit at the Idahosa’s residence in Benin, Prof. Ize-Iyamu offered prayers for the family, asking for divine strength to help them cope with the irreplaceable loss.
She fondly remembered the late Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa as a devout christian and a central figure in her family.
Receiving the delegation, Edo State Deputy Governor , Mr. Dennis Idahosa appreciated the CMD and the hospital for providing quality care for his mother while on admission at the hospital.
Idahosa said, “I appreciate the quality of care my mother received before her passing. I am so pleased. I believe you gave my mother the best possible care. I express my sincere appreciation to the leadership and staff of UBTH for the attention given and the proactive response of your healthcare professionals for the number of days my mother was in your facility.”
Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, the mother of Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at the age of 95.
A family statement confirmed her passing, noting that she was a highly respected matriarch from the Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.
