Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has inaugurated four boards and committees as part of measures to improve governance and service delivery in the state.
The inauguration was announced by the governor on Thursday, September 3, 2026, as the state government moves to strengthen the administration of key sectors.

The newly inaugurated bodies include the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Edo State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Consumer Protection Committee and the Edo State Rural Access Roads Agency (RARA).
The establishment and inauguration of the bodies are expected to provide institutional support for the administration of areas covering religious pilgrimage, consumer protection and rural road development.
The development comes as the state government continues to constitute agencies and committees responsible for specific aspects of governance and public service.

Welfare Boards are responsible for matters relating to pilgrims from the state, while the Consumer Protection Committee is expected to address issues affecting consumers.

The Rural Access Roads Agency, on the other hand, focuses on rural road access, an area considered important to movement and economic activities in communities outside major urban centres.
The governor’s action is part of ongoing efforts by the Edo State Government to strengthen its administrative structures and improve the delivery of public services to residents.
