The celebration of the victory of Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the just concluded Edo State governorship, the APC members in Orhionmwon Local government area on Saturday gathered to celebrate the party victory.
The August eventful party which was organised by the Representative of Edo State in the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC and Leader of the APC in the area played host to party leaders, Local Government Area Executive Committee members and Ward Executive Committee members to stupor.

According to Liberty Ruyi, administrative aid, Aisowieren eulogized the different actors, spotting Ugu Ward 9 as the best-performed Ward, with Iyoba and Igbanke West Wards coming second and third, respectively. He also identified the best-performing units in the Local Government Area to include Comr. Osahon Imaru’s unit, Rt. Hon. Patrick Aisowieren’s unit and Prince Lucky Igbinedion’s unit as first, second and third respectively, with handsome financial prizes as promised by Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Pius Odubu.
Speaking on behalf of the party leaders, Hon. Tony Osazuwa illustrated Aisowieren’s uncommon strategy through the instrumentality of his office that saw the APC beating PDP in 10 out of the 12 Wards in Orhionmwon and putting the party on a sure footing to win any and all subsequent elections in the area. He also appreciated his sacrifice across the state that gave impetus to supposedly troubled areas in Edo South and prayed that God continue to reward him for his untiring efforts.

The high point of the occasion was the position of the LGA party executive committee ably led by Mr Julius Agbonze, aka Baba Naira, to bar entry of new members into the party until December 2026. In a motion moved by the LGA Legal Adviser Barr. Robert Okpiavbere and seconded by the LGA Youth Leader Hon. Kingsley Omobude, the party resolved to shut the door against defections from other political parties with the exception of serving State and Federal Legislators.
The party, by the resolution, mandated all 12 Ward Chairmen to close their membership register until December 2026 when the ban is expected to be lifted. The exception of State and Federal Legislators is at the instance of the state leadership of the party. As such is necessary to add immediate value and stabilize governance in the state for the overall well-being of the people
