The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Plateau State Chapter has elected new executive officers to run the affairs of the chapter for the next three years.
The election which took place today Thursday 21st 11/ 2024 at the Mess Palace Jos saw Alfred Saiki emerge as Chairman, Sammy Adesoji Vice Chairman, Kaneng Ladoja as Treasurer and Rhairom Zamora as Assistant Secretary.
The new Executives were sworn in by Barrister Arin Nyako, after which Certificate of return was presented to them by the SWANECO under the supervision of the National Ex -Officio Alh. Usman Abbas Osculator.
The National President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria ( SWAN) Mr. Benjamin Aziah who sent his Goodwill Message through the North Central Vice President and presented by the Usman Abbas Osculator who supervised the election, commended members of the election committee for doing very good job especially by using the Statute strictly.He also appreciated the cooperation and understanding of all members that led to the success of this historic election.
The President while congratulating the new Executives for their well deserved elections assured them of NEC support and his willingness to carry every chapter a long in the interest of all members and sports development in Nigeria.
He re-eterated his commitment to the welfare, training and re-training and unity of all members of the association.
He used this opportunity to call on state chapters to mobilize their members to massively commence payment of membership registration for 2025 so that by January the National Secretariat will start sending Cards to states.
The newly elected Chairman Mr. Alfred Saiki in his acceptance speech expressed gratitude to the National Secretariat of the Association for proving guidance to SWANECO Members through out the process that led to today’s history.
The Chairman also Commended the electoral body for despite the Challenges made sure that they mobilized members, the result which we are celebrating today.
While appreciating the Zonal Vice President of the North Central Mallam Olayinka for his excellent advices and the National Ex -Officio Usman Abbas Osculator for good representation and supervision of the successful election, assured that he will operate an open door policy where all members would have a say in running to association to success and that he will not compromise the welfare of members .
