Bendel Insurance Football Club celebrated a major breakthrough on Matchday 16, securing their first away victory of the season with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Katsina United.
The match-winning moment came in the 72nd minute when Elmer Arunta delivered a brilliant strike, lifting the Benin Arsenals out of the relegation zone and reigniting hope among fans.
In a statement issued by his media aid, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Edo State Sports Commission Executive Chairman Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele hailed the victory as “a new dawn for Bendel Insurance FC.” He praised the team’s determination, unity, and marked improvement, highlighting their ability to turn the season around.
“This away win is not just about the three points — it is a strong statement of the team’s character. The boys fought with heart, discipline, and belief. I commend Coach Kennedy Boboye and his technical team for their tactical brilliance and the players for giving their all until the final whistle”, Enabulele stated.

He also referenced the team’s rising momentum following a commanding 3–0 victory over Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi on Matchday 15, noting that Bendel Insurance continues to build confidence and strength with every match.
Assuring fans of continued support, Enabulele said: “We will keep backing the team with all necessary resources to ensure consistent performance. This win should inspire the players to push even harder in upcoming games. Bendel Insurance is a club with pride, history, and identity, and we are confident they will continue to rise.”
The emphatic away victory now lifts Bendel Insurance to 15th place on the NPFL league table with 19 points.

Bendel Insurance FC will be back home to face Rangers International of Enugu in the NPFL Matchday 17, scheduled to hold on Saturday, 13, December, 2025 in Benin City.
