Bendel Insurance FC delivered a festive cheer to their supporters on Matchday 19 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) by securing a convincing 2–0 home advantage win over Kwara United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
The victory left the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, visibly delighted.
In a statement issued by his media aid, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele hailed the result as a clear statement of intent by the Benin Arsenal, underscoring the team’s steady growth and renewed confidence.
“Last weekend, we defeated the league champions, Remo Stars, away from home. Today’s performance further confirms that the team is improving with every match,” he said.
The win ensures Bendel Insurance FC closes the first half of the NPFL season in eighth position—a reflection, according to Enabulele, of the dedication and hard work of the players, technical crew, and management.
He also commended the goalscorers, praising Akpan Emmanuel for his well-timed header in the 16th minute, and Kayode Oke for calmly finishing a precise pass from Nwosu on the right flank in the 39th minute to seal the victory.
With back-to-back wins against Remo Stars and Kwara United, Bendel Insurance FC heads into the second half of the season with growing consistency, renewed belief, and strong momentum.
