We’ll resist enemies of Benin throne with last drop of our blood – Edo Youths Declares

A Socio Cultural group, Edo Youth, (EY), has warned those who insult or throw unholy words against the sacred great Benin Throne will be punished without fear or favour.
The group in a statement signed by
Mr. Iyamu Osaro Culture-President, AIGUOBASINMWIN MOVEMENT WORLD-WIDE and Mr. Uwadiae Iyoha- President, OTEDO YOUTH UNION, warned that anyone who disrespect the Benin Throne is automatically an enemy of the kingdom.
In a peaceful protest around the city of Benin , the youths said that reckless utterances, and sustained provocations by Mr. Obaseki, his close associates, and affiliated media actors against the Great Benin Throne, initiated their embarking on the Warning Walk and issued the Statement of Facts to properly situate the issues before the public.
The statement reads:
Public Warning and Call for Accountability
Dear Edo People,
We, the concerned Youths and stakeholders of Edo State are compelled by the persistent misdemeanours, reckless utterances, and sustained provocations by Mr. Obaseki, his close associates, and affiliated media actors against the Great Benin Throne, to embark on this Warning Walk and issue this Statement of Facts to properly situate the issues before the public.
We also want to debunk the irregularities of some imprudent politicians that operate a democratic system of governance which has stolen so much from the Edo Ubini N’okpèvbo kingdom.. The palace of Oba of Benin is sacred to the Ėdos & they are forever loyal to the throne… Regardless of all these facts, the Benin people have been peaceful, loving and have always worked in accordance with stipulated constitutional laws. However, we shall not stand to see our Sacred Royal palace be any form of joke for some mediocre to ridicule whether physical or online and we shall always be radical towards anybody who does so be it a politician or any status, he may have attained. We are united because of the palace of Benin and have never distorted any democratic principles of Nigeria based on this regard, we shall also not allow anybody to drag our king or the great Benin Royal Palace by an unscrupulous individual.
While we await Mr. Obaseki returned to Edo State to provide clear and fundamental explanations regarding these matters, it has become necessary to raise critical questions following the recent press conference held by members of the Obaseki family concerning the discipline melted on their brother, Mr. Pedro Obaseki an incident linked to his public utterances against the Great Benin Throne.
We therefore ask, in the interest of truth and public accountability:
- Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki openly dragged our sacred Artefacts with the great Benin Royal Palace?
Ask the family of Obaseki when Obaseki aligned with suspended Enigies in actions perceived as hostile to the Benin Royal Palace?
Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki diverted the money meant to build BENIN ROYAL MUSEUM for his dead on arrival at the private Museum known as MOWAA??
- Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki instituted legal actions against the Benin Royal Palace in collaboration with the suspended Enigies because he couldn’t grab our returned stolen artefacts?
Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki withheld the statutory allocations due to the Benin Traditional Council?
Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki was making frantic moves to weaken or fragment the unity of the Benin Kingdom?
. Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki mobilized his thugs to Benin Airport to humiliate Former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole?
.Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki was planning to Balkanize the great Benin Kingdom?
- Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki deployed his coordinated media campaigns against the great Benin Royal Palace because he couldn’t grab our sacred Artefacts?
Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki shutdown Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre with heavy and sporadic shooting?
- Where was the family of Obaseki when Mr. Pedro Obaseki made repeated public statements casting aspersions on the great Benin Royal Palace prior to the 2024 governorship election?
.Where was family of Obaseki when Obaseki made provocative statements during 2024 Governorship campaigns that Nigeria would burn if his anointed Governorship candidate didn’t win?
.Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki mobilized thugs to harass and humiliate distinguished Senator Mathew Urhoghide at Benin Airport?
- Where was the family of Obaseki when both Mr. Godwin Obaseki and Mr. Pedro Obaseki made inflammatory remarks against the Edo State Government and the great Benin Royal Palace?
- Where was the family of Obaseki when Obaseki and Pedro Obaseki were organizing their Terrorist Gatherings known as meet and greet in abroad which is aimed at inciting unrest and hostility against the great Benin Throne and the current Edo State administration?
Given the prolonged silence of the Obaseki family during these episodes, it is evident that moral authority cannot be selectively invoked only when consequences arise. While we do not support violence in any form, it is on record that we have constantly warned those who are in the habit of throwing tantrums at the great Benin Royal Palace to desist. We insist that actions and words have consequences, and those who have held positions before and still holding positions must be prepared to be held accountable by lawful and civil means. We don’t have mercy for any person or group of persons who are commissioned by Obaseki and his like to disrespect our God given THRONE.
We therefore caution against selective outrage, misinformation, or attempts to intimidate Edo people for expressing legitimate grievances. No individual should be unjustly harassed or scapegoated during the period under review.
It should be noted that we are born to continually defend our rich culture, traditions, heritage and customs.
No body should make mistakes of casting aspersions on the custodian of our rich culture, traditions, heritage and customs otherwise he or she will meet the wrath of Edo people.
Finally, we want to urge the Obaseki family to reinstate their loyalty to the throne and call their son’s for reinstitution instead of making more threats. Edo Youth are not after the Obaseki family that is why no single Obaseki family has been attacked or dragged since the inception of this whole situation by Godwin Obaseki. Also, we issue this clear warning that those who habitually insult, provoke, or undermine the Great Benin Royal Palace and the collective heritage of Edo people must desist immediately. Edo people remain peaceful, but resolute in defending our history, rich culture, traditions, heritage, customs and dignity.
