SOS Inaugurates SBCPC in Edo

As part of making sure that schools in Edo are safer and in good condition and operation for the children, the school base child protection committee, SBCPC has been inaugurated in the state.

This inauguration of the committee became successful with the help of SOS village Nigeria.

According to the speakers, the reason for setting up such a committee was because of the growing concerns of school based offenses.

“Strengthening the school base committee operations has led to designating physical personnel who will be fully responsible to take up issues and further escalating it until it gets to appropriate authorities.

“We are now ready to strengthen the school base committee support, not just building, we are also going to be having a designated person that will be fully responsible when issue in that nature arises.

Taking participants through the modules of the training before the inauguration, an expert, Maryam Cam said the training was not just like every other training but one that is very sensitive to those involved during implementation and operations.

“Please count yourselves lucky for being here, remember we are going to be dealing with our children, so they would expect us to be receptive, patient and almost behaving like them.

There were good will messages from the commissioner of women affairs, represented by the ministry director of media, Mrs Dassy Osunde

She thanked SOS for their interest in making sure that children are always in a perfect state of mind as they grew to become positively useful to society.

Other stakeholders alike also appealed to like minds and everyone to join hands together in making sure that Edo is from every deliberate threat capable of hindering children to performing to their optimum standard.
