The Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, University of Benin, has concluded arrangements for its fifth Faculty Lecture Series scheduled to hold on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
Uniben: Benin Group declares no increment in school fees
The lecture, themed “From the Weaver Bird as Disseminators of Information to the Digital Phenomenon: The Study of Mass Communication,” will be delivered by Professor Marcel Okhakhu, Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
The event marks another milestone in the faculty’s drive to promote intellectual discourse and advance scholarship in communication and media studies.

According to the event flyer jointly signed by Prof. B.A. Ayinde, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Ekehuan Campus and Chairman of the Committee on Public Lecture Series, and Prof. (Mrs.) Comfort Ene Obaje, Chairperson of the Faculty Lecture Planning Committee, the lecture will attract academics, media practitioners, students and other distinguished guests.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Edoba Omoregie, will serve as the distinguished chairman of the occasion.
The lecture is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Akin Deko Main Auditorium, Ugbowo Campus, while guests are expected to be seated by 10:30 a.m.
