…CPC needs everyone to succeed – chairman
The commissioner of police, Edo State, Patrick Daaor says he has instructed the deputy commissioner of police, (operations) to urgently order Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, DPOs to mobilize men of the command to ensure tight security for the personnel of the newly inaugurated members of the consumers protection committee, CPC.
He said the current state of substandard products in circulation calls for urgent attention that should be supported by all meaning citizens of the state.
C.P Daaor said the situation needs emergency approach and must be taking seriously by all as the future of the nation needs to be protected.
Addressing members of the committee on Friday who were on a familiarisation visit to the command headquarters in Benin City, the state capital, he said he has just minuted CPC letter to D.C oops to urgently instruct every area command and divisional police to work with the committee fully without hesitation.
“Sometimes people are afraid of buying as small as ordinary fruit, all because they don’t know how and what is involved. So all hands must be on deck for us to have a safe and safer society.
Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Mr Osaro Iyamu Culture briefed C.P Daaor on the need for partnership and proper synergy between the committee and security agency.
Mr Culture who was accompanied by Hon. Eshesimua Sunday Charles and Osaghae Sweet Oghogho coordinator, Edo north and South respectively said, as dully backed by the law, the committee needs everyone in discharging their duties.
“We must sweep off the ugly trend that has almost eaten up our community, as we are hitting the ground running we’ll be ensuring that the governor mandate in making Edo greet inline with the SHINE agenda must be fully implemented to the fullest.
We are here to request for security support statewide in order to ensure safe operation across Edo as a state and provide support. Our people are dying on a daily basis but we must never allow such to continue Mr Culture added.
