Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Edo State Chapter, have emerged the best performing chapter of the Association under Zone F, South South, in the country.
The award was presented by the National President of NAWOJ, Comrade Ladi Bala, and Vice President of the ZoneComrade Uduak Ikang, during the National Executive Council, (NEC) meeting at Asaba, Capital of the Delta State.
Receiving the award, the chairperson, Edo State Chapter said, “This is coming as a surprise because we never expected it.
“We at Edo Chapter are organizing programs for the society we live in, to leave a landmark and legacy for generations ahead”, she said.
Responding, a Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Social Media to the Edo State Governor, Comrade Osunde Massy Osaigbovo said “the award is well deserved. The women are doing their best in organising programs”.
The Chairman of the State Information Chapel, Mrs Maureen Nwine said “Winning the award as the best performing state goes to prove that Edo is actually the senior. Edo is a home of champions and highflyers. Comrade Adesuwa Ehimuan, have proven herself that actually, Edo is first among equals”.
Some programs and projects of the Adesuwa Ehimuan-led administration were described to as comprehensive and complimenting the track records of the Festus Alenkhe-led administration of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Edo State Council.
