The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a seven-hour power outage affecting parts of Edo and Kogi States on Tuesday.
The outage is scheduled to take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as part of maintenance work at the Ajaokuta transmission substation.
According to the company, the maintenance is being carried out on a power transformer and other equipment at the substation.
TCN said the exercise is necessary to carry out preventive maintenance and improve the reliability of the transmission facilities.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are expected to experience an interruption in electricity supply during the maintenance period.
The company said power supply would be restored after the maintenance work is completed.
The development highlights the importance of regular maintenance of electricity infrastructure to ensure stable power transmission across the affected areas.
