In less than twenty-four hours to Edo governorship election, members of New Nigeria Peoples Party in the State has asked the party chairman, Mr Fred Uwangue to as a matter of urgency release the party electoral tags in his possession.

The members in their numbers early hours on Friday staged a peaceful protest in some streets within Benin City, the state capital, quarried the rationale behind the seizure of the materials made for party agents as representatives across various voting centres in Edo.

“He went and pick the party materials (tags) from the designated location, at first over four hundred was missing, he later missed them with other parties.
“He collected the polling units tags and kept them to himself without the knowledge our principal, the money our national body brought to pay the party agents, the took fifteen million from the money.

“We are giving him few hours to release the party tags and other materials. I also noticed that, the party logo on the tags has been changed without our notice. We are winning this election.
Corroborating Hon Akhibi stand, Mr John Gospel, Ologbo ward 10 chairman, Ikpoba Okha LGA said the party national body should call Uwangue to order before is too late.
Reacting via a telephone the party state chairman, Fred Uwangue said those protesting are desctrators, claimed innocent but promised to get back.
