The Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, on Monday, August 31st, received a newly donated ambulance from the federal government to bolster emergency medical response.
Speaking during the ambulance presentation by the federal government delivered by the Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Prof. Ize-Iyamu said that the donation would significantly strengthen patient care and emergency operations.
The CMD expressed gratitude for the ongoing federal support under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and pledged judicious use of the ambulance.

She noted that the ambulance donation was possible owing to the effort of the state deputy governor, Rt. Hon Dennis Idahosa; What the DG have done is going to change the narrative of how patients or victims are taken care of from the point of victim to the point where they will be stabilised and attended to in the hospital’
Edo State Deputy Governor, had facilitated the ambulance donation while he was a member of the House of Representatives and now formally handed over the vehicle on behalf of the federal government to the UBTH.
According to the CMD, commitment comes from people who are committed legislatures like you, what we are receiving today is as a result of what you have done before now. We appreciate your reach and that of the governor Sen Monday Okpebholo.

Presenting the ambulance to UBTH on behalf of the federal government, Dennis Idahosa commended the Chief Medical Director and her management team for driving excellence in healthcare delivery at the tertiary health institution.

Idahosa pledged the Edo State government’s unwavering commitment to supporting sustainable healthcare services and expressed his gratitude to the hospital’s management for providing exceptional medical care to his late mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, during her admission at the facility prior to her passing.
